Front Line

Fernie Lodging Company Manager Shelley L'Estrange grew up in B.C.’s interior and moved to Fernie 4 years ago. With more than 20 years of business and hospitality experience, Shelley has swept the northern hemisphere from Lake Louise to Whistler, the Caribbean, Interior B.C., Victoria and now Fernie. Shelley is responsible for the day to day management of the company, as well as all marketing and sales initiatives including Wholesaler relations, trade and consumer shows, print media, promotions, website, property tours and inspections.

Jodi Hainsworth our Reservations Supervisor and Group Sales Co-ordinator has resided in Fernie for over 25 years. Jodi is responsible for rates, room arrangements, payments, lift tickets, lessons and transportation for our group bookings. In addition, Jodi is in charge of sales tracking and website updates.

Mari-Anne Allan is also a Fernie Local and is a registered paramedic. In search of a slightly less dramatic career, Mari-Anne came to us in 2004 as a reservation specialist and is now our Guest Services Manager responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of our dynamic seasonal Guest Services team. Mari-Anne is also our wedding co-ordinator.

Working in tandem with Mari-Anne during the winter season, Alice Hayes has been an integral part of Fernie Lodging Company for the past 11 winter seasons. Her experience within the company ranges from Guest Services to Reservations to launching new properties and housekeeping services. Each winter Alice rejoins us from her summer accommodation company on the Gaspe, Quebec. Alice is a passionate skier and avid tennis player, and fluent in both French and English. Alice is responsible for Guest Services at our signature ski-in/ski-out property Snow Creek Lodge.

Diane Souccar, has worked in various roles within the company since 2002, and currently fills the newly created position of Owner Relations. Born in Australia, and emigrating to Canada from Switzerland at age 4, Diane was raised in Montreal, Quebec, and moved to Fernie from Toronto following a 15 year career as Owner/Operator of a successful travel agency. Diane has travelled many of the world's ski resorts and has settled in Fernie to pursue her passions of skiing, biking and hiking in the beautiful Elk Valley.

Behind the Scenes

Jen O'Donnell is our Accounting Manager. Jen came to Fernie from Ontario with her daughter and enjoys biking, skiing and hiking. Jen is a passionate environmentalist and co-ordinates an intensive recycling program within the company.

Nadia Rannou travelled west from Quebec 4 years ago initially moving to Calgary and then Fernie in 2007. She hasn't looked back! Nadia is our Accounting Assistant responsible for Owner and Wholesaler accounting. Nadia enjoyes snowboarding and mountain biking.
